MediaOrder

Never say "send me your photos" again.
A structured submission system for visual storytellers
Built to end the back-and-forth that drains every edit.
MediaOrder by Daguerrelab

MediaOrder is for visual storytellers.

You build slideshows. Family photo retrospectives, life-story videos, the kind that get projected at the event and bring the room through every emotion — laughter, tears, joy, all of it.

Your real bottleneck isn't the edit — it's getting the photos out of the family. The right ones, in the right order, with the right notes, before you can even start.

Photos come in from five different apps. The wrong one arrives twice, the right one never. Notes come by text. Music decisions come by phone. And when you finally have everything — that's when the real chaos starts.

MediaOrder is the link you send your client instead. One structured place — set up by you, controlled by you — where they upload everything, drag it into the order they want, attach the notes, pick the music. They follow the path you set.

They get a clear way to send you what you need. You get one clean delivery, organized the way you'd want it, with everything attached. The chaos stops at the gate.

Why I built it

I've spent over twenty years building slideshows, and I've been through every one of these challenges with my own clients.

Every frustration you just read about — I lived it. I built it because I needed it. The structure exists because clients need to be guided. The control exists because the client needs boundaries.

I built it to solve my own challenges. It just happens to solve yours too.

The portal you send instead of saying "send me your photos."

You set up the portal once — your logo, your color, your studio's URL, your pricing. Your client gets one private link with a 4-digit PIN. Inside, they're not staring at a blank dropbox. They're guided through building their slideshow: creating their own chapters, uploading photos and videos into each one, dragging them into order, attaching music, leaving notes. The tool walks them through it.

Every drag, every photo, every note — saved automatically the moment they make it. Nothing lost. Nothing scattered. One link does the whole job that used to take five apps.

The numbers stay yours.

You set the package — say, 150 photos for $350. Your client sees a live counter as they upload. If they pass 150, the price updates right in front of them. No awkward call about charging extra. No surprise invoice at the end. The math is happening on screen while they're still adding photos.

And once they submit, the order locks. They can't sneak in five more photos at midnight. If they really need to change something, they have to ask — and you're the one who decides yes or no. Scope creep stops where you set the rule.

See exactly what changed. Don't rebuild from scratch.

Clients change their minds. They send the order, then a week later they want to swap three photos, add five more, and move grandma earlier in the timeline. You know what comes next — you open the order and stare at 200 photos trying to remember what was different. Or worse, you start over from the new ZIP and lose half a night.

MediaOrder tracks every submission. Every time your client hits Submit, the system takes a complete snapshot — every photo, every position, every note, every section, the music links, all of it. Version 1, version 2, version 3, version 4. When they resubmit, you don't get a new pile to sort through — you get a clear picture of what changed between the version you already worked on and the new one.

Photos get colored borders telling you instantly: green is new, yellow is replaced, blue is moved, red ghost cards show what they deleted. A side panel lists every change as individual cards — "this photo moved here," "this photo replaced that one," "this section was added," "this music link changed." You can compare the latest version against the previous one, or jump back to any earlier version and compare against that instead.

And the client sees a counter too — "Submitted 3" — so they know how many times they've sent it. Quiet pressure to think before clicking again.

You stop redoing work that didn't change. You only edit the parts that actually moved.
